Purified Shilajit Resin Extract

500mg (standardised to 50% Fulvic Acid)

A centuries-old Himalayan compound rich in fulvic acid, dibenzo-alpha-pyrones and over 80 ionic trace minerals. Supports mitochondrial efficiency, nutrient absorption and cellular energy production.

Fulvic Acid

250mg (50% of extract)

The primary bioactive in Shilajit. Acts as a natural transporter that helps deliver minerals into cells and has been studied for its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and support cognitive health.

How to Use

Typical Dose: 300–500mg daily

Shilajit is taken in the morning as part of the daily protocol. Its energising properties and support for mitochondrial function make it appropriate for daytime use. It pairs naturally with Creatine as part of the Performance and Recovery stack, and with NAD+ for those prioritising cellular longevity.

The Science

Fulvic acid is the primary bioactive component of Shilajit, typically comprising 15–20% of the resin by weight.

Fulvic Acid

It is a small molecular weight organic acid that has demonstrated the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. Research has explored its role in reducing the aggregation of tau proteins — a hallmark of neurodegenerative disease — and its capacity to act as a carrier molecule, potentially enhancing the cellular uptake of other nutrients and minerals.

A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in Andrologia (2015) found that men aged 45–55 taking 250mg of purified Shilajit twice daily for 90 days showed statistically significant increases in total testosterone, free testosterone, and DHEAS compared to the placebo group. These findings were replicated in a similar study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology.

A study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (2019) examined the effect of Shilajit supplementation on muscle strength and recovery in healthy men. Participants taking Shilajit demonstrated significantly greater preservation of muscle strength following a fatiguing exercise protocol, along with improved recovery markers. The authors attributed these effects in part to Shilajit's proposed role in mitochondrial energy production.

Dibenzo-Alpha-Pyrones (DBPs)

DBPs are unique to Shilajit and are not found in meaningful quantities in any other natural substance. They appear to play a role in mitochondrial electron transport chain function, specifically in supporting the regeneration of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) — a compound essential for cellular energy production. This mechanism is one proposed explanation for Shilajit's traditional association with energy and stamina.

Trace Minerals

Shilajit contains over 80 minerals in ionic form, meaning they are already broken down to a size that allows for rapid cellular absorption. This includes iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium, and manganese, among others. Modern diets, particularly those reliant on intensively farmed produce, are often lower in trace minerals than they were historically — making a concentrated natural source of ionic minerals relevant for many adults.
