Why we sell stacks — and the thinking behind each one

by Lux Vita on Jun 04, 2026

We sell five stacks. That's a deliberate number — small enough that each one has a clear job, large enough to cover the four times of day most people care about: morning, the working day, evening, and the long run. This piece walks through the thinking behind each one. If you're new to supplements, it's also the most efficient way to read about what we make, because the stacks contain the actives we'd suggest anyone start with.

A note before we begin: a stack is not a magic combination. A stack is a sensible grouping of ingredients whose mechanisms either complement each other or sit on the same biological pathway. Nothing in our stacks has been shown to "potentiate" anything else in a meaningful clinical sense — we don't make that claim. What stacks do is reduce decision fatigue and make a daily routine easier to stick to.

Why we don't sell a "more is more" stack

Most supplement stacks on the market are an exercise in throwing eight things at the same problem and hoping one works. That's not a protocol — it's a product page. We'd rather have a smaller stack with a clear rationale than a bigger one we can't explain. If a stack ingredient can't be justified on the same page as the rest, it doesn't belong in the stack.

A few principles guide what does belong:

  • One stack should target one window or one outcome. Morning energy is a different question from evening recovery. Don't mix the two.
  • Doses inside the stack match the doses in our standalone products. We don't quietly lower doses to fit a price point.
  • No proprietary blends. Every active in a stack is named with its dose.
  • No fairy-dust additions. If we'd cut an ingredient from the standalone product, we cut it from the stack.

The five stacks, in plain English

Daily Performance Stack — morning baseline

The job. Cover the basics for someone who trains, works, and wants steady physical and mental output through the day. Foundational, not stimulant-based.

The rationale. The actives we pair here all sit on broadly the same axis — cellular energy substrate, mitochondrial efficiency, and antioxidant balance. Shilajit brings standardised fulvic acid and trace cofactors; the research on shilajit and exertion is preliminary but plausible. Creatine monohydrate is one of the most evidence-backed supplements on the market for physical performance — at 3–5g daily it's been studied for decades. The pairing is a complement: substrate plus mitochondrial-pathway support.

Who it's for. Someone who already sleeps and eats reasonably well, trains 3+ times a week, and wants a single daily routine rather than four separate bottles to remember.

Cognitive Stack — for the working day

The job. Support focus, mental endurance, and clarity during the part of the day you spend at a screen. Designed for steady output rather than a stimulant peak.

The rationale. Lion's Mane is the most-studied nootropic mushroom, with human data on mood and cognitive markers that's modest but real. NAD⁺ capsules sit further upstream — NAD⁺ is a coenzyme in roughly 500 enzymatic reactions including brain energy metabolism. The two ingredients act on different layers (substrate vs. signalling molecule) which is why they pair sensibly.

For people who already use the standalone products and want the next layer, Methylene Blue 1% drops can be added as an advanced active. We treat MB as a single-active product, not a default stack ingredient, because the dosing window is narrower and not everyone needs it.

Who it's for. Someone whose job involves sustained mental focus, who's already nailed the basics (sleep, hydration, light exposure) and wants a step up from coffee.

Longevity Stack — slow compounding

The job. Support the systems that decline gradually with age — mitochondrial output, skin structure, oxidative balance. Nothing in this stack will be "noticed" in a week. It compounds.

The rationale. NAD⁺ is the foundation here, for the reasons above. Marine Collagen is a structural protein source for skin, hair, and nails — the EFSA-approved health claims around vitamin C and zinc (both present in our formulation) cover collagen formation directly. The combination targets cellular machinery and structural turnover at the same time.

The Longevity stack pairs well with the Red Light Therapy Mask, which sits in the same category — slow, gradual, mitochondrial — but at the skin rather than the systemic level.

Who it's for. Someone in their 30s or older who's thinking about the next decade rather than next week.

Evening Recovery Stack — for the wind-down

The job. Support the body's transition from active to resting. The actives here are calming and recovery-orientated, not sedative.

The rationale. Our Evening Recovery Powder combines magnesium glycinate (involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions, with a clearer evidence base for sleep quality than most "sleep" supplements), L-theanine (the relaxant amino acid found in tea, with modest human data on perceived stress), and supportive co-actives. Paired with Marine Collagen taken in the evening, this stack supports overnight recovery without sedation.

Who it's for. People who wind down poorly — racing thoughts, late-night work, trouble switching gears — who'd rather avoid prescription sleep aids.

Full Protocol Stack — everything we'd take ourselves

The job. The complete Lux Vita catalogue, simplified. This is the stack for someone who's already decided they want the full programme and doesn't want to assemble it themselves.

The rationale. The Full Protocol covers the four windows above: morning baseline (Shilajit + Creatine), working day (Lion's Mane + NAD⁺), evening recovery (Evening Powder + Marine Collagen), and the skin/long-game category (Red Light Mask). Nothing duplicates; nothing is wasted.

Who it's for. Someone who's read the brand and wants to skip the decision-tree.

How to actually choose

If you don't know where to start, our suggestion is honest and boring: start with one stack, not three.

  • Most people should start with the Daily Performance or Cognitive Stack. They cover the part of the day you're most likely to feel a difference in.
  • Add the Evening Recovery stack second if sleep or wind-down is the bigger problem.
  • Add the Longevity Stack third, once the daily rhythm is in place. It's the slowest to "do" anything noticeable, and that's the point.

We'd rather you take one stack consistently for three months than four stacks erratically for two weeks. The consistency is the protocol. The bottles are just the delivery.
